  • Update on Superintendent Position - April 25, 2017

This week, representatives from the Chappaqua Central School District will be meeting with staff, faculty, administration, parents and Board of Education members to finalize Dr. Ackerman's candidacy to be their next Superintendent of Schools. In anticipation of this appointment, we are working to secure an interim Superintendent to begin this July. The Board of Education is also in contact with various firms who will facilitate the search process to identify our next Superintendent of Schools. We will continue to update the community as we progress through this transition. Provided Dr. Ackerman is appointed in the near future, we thank her for her service as our Superintendent over the past three years and wish her and her family well as she embarks on this new career opportunity. Sincerely, Ron Sommer- Greenwood Lake BOE President

  • Superintendent's Letter - Grades 3-8 NYS Testing

Greenwood Lake Union Free School District continues to develop and implement a balanced assessment system to more accurately reflect student progress. While the plan does not overly rely upon standardized measures, the 3-8 NYS Math and English Language Arts (ELA) Assessments are a component of our balanced assessment systems. The NYS Assessments are designed to gauge student progress toward higher academic standards. This feedback is important for teachers, parents and students as we prepare children to be college and career ready.
